The EGR valve will always stay closed since the solenoid will never give it the vacuum to open but will still be recieving a signal from the ecm. You only get a code when the solenoid is unplugged.Well I bought two packs of resistors from Radio shack... both packs were in the "10,000 ohm resistor" bin, so i prolly grabbed one pack of 10k ohm and one pack of 10 ohm. my bad, some of you might've gotten 10k ohm resistors... check the color code on the resistor. brown black orange gold = 10 K-ohm. brown black black gold = 10 ohms.
