I believe you'd have to mill off the front frame rails of a p226. The p229 is a whole separate thing. Being designed for 40 cal and being produced mostly in the United States from a one piece slide that milled. The Sig slide that you'd Really like to try that with would be a p228 this is the one if any that would interchange with the p226.
