OPF-G, RMR happens to work with Holosun 407C X2 and 507C variants. 508T is a rather loose fit on OPF-G, RMR, the plate design that's meant to hold the sight immobile isn't able to keep 508T from excessively moving along the bore before the sight to plate screws are installed, we do not recommend 508T on any of our RMR plates.
I figured the 507 has a more established run. I am sure the 508t greens will be better in the next batches. My 507c is pretty niceb though. I would check kenziesoptics either way and use kz10 at checkout (I think that's the right code. You can google it). Having owned both, I prefer the SCS. New Auto adjust brightness works fantastic, not having to replace batteries, no adapter plate, hard to find anything not to like. If you already have the 507c, it’s probably worth getting a plate. If you can return it still and really don’t want to deal with the hassle, then do that and get the SCS.

The 507c is roughly 50% cheaper than an RMR and from what I can see about 85% as durable in the short term. However you have to factor in Made in USA vs Made in China. So besides your buddies bad experience the overwhelming majority still hold the RMR as the "best" choice for a defensive handgun. Must be that texas sun cooking the optics haha.
